Painting

Painting is a great way to still the mind. It's like playing computer games, if you are concentrating on them, your mind is free to sort itself out without the interference of the conscious mind. It's a great way to give your thoughts a well earned rest! And, just to let you know, I cannot draw a straight line! I am not a trained artist and didn't go to art school!

I started painting a few years ago when my sister put paints and paper in front of me and told me just to paint what I saw! At that moment, I was looking out to Ailsa Craig. (Ailsa Craig is an island off the west coast of Scotland. It's where the granite comes from for making curling stones). Anyway, my painting of Ailsa Craig now hangs on the wall in my sisters' house!

In fact, all my family have at least one of my paintings!
